20
years of skills in motion
D2T is 20 years old. 20 years of engine and powertrain development, test bed
engineering and test bed equipment.
As time goes by, we attain various skills. Thanks to them, today we
devise new engine calibration methods and offer state-of-the-art tools
such as MORPHEE 2, our test bed automation and simulation system. This
has required selfless passion - and the support of our customers!
20 years of experience makes a difference. It gives a unique blend:
expert technicians who, very often strongly experienced on our customers
sites, speak your language and follow your testing methodologies;
innovation through our partnership with the IFP (Institute of the French Petroleum); flexible tools for your test beds, allowing you to reduce
test durations.
Tomorrow …
Modelling and simulation technologies will offer new perspectives,
hybrid and electric vehicles will take to our roads ... but the experts
at D2T will always be in search of the optimal solution.
Then, ready for 20 years more? |

IN BRIEF
Aerospace Testing
Within its strategy framework, D2T will
participate in the
Testing
Aerospace exhibition in Hamburg
from 18 to 20th of May, 2010. Experts
will present to you (exclusively) innovative solutions in automation and
real time simulation (MORPHEE 2).
Appointments
Gaetan MONNIER was appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of D2T.
Andre QUIGNODON was appointed as new Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Major step for
the OSIRIS combustion analysis system
OSIRIS continues to expand, offering an
optional new acquisition mode called Angle & Time. Now you can perform
time-based acquisition in parallel with standard angular acquisition.
This new feature takes a fixed period of engine cycles, defined by
crankshaft angle from top dead centre. The goal is to allow precise
analysis for some periods of engine cycles at very high sampling
frequencies, still guaranteeing perfect synchronisation with angular
data. This function is already in use on injector tuning (analysis of
command …., injected flow…)

In
2009, in spite of difficult economic conditions, D2T continued its
ambitious investment policy. Our investments were concentrated on
our CESAME test centre located on the Madrillet science park near
Rouen. This centre is dedicated to the development and calibration
of vehicles and will very soon possess one of the world’s most
advanced facilities compatible with present and known future
standards (EURO 5 and 6), housing a
4 x 4 chassis dynamometer in
a climatic cell down to -
7°C. This test centre,
opening in March 2010,
will handle validation of all vehicles and utilities, gasoline /
diesel in standard or hybrid form.
With D2T,
tomorow's propulsion is starting today. |

On
the road, driving situations are varied; stops at lights, startup
phases, stable highway speeds; so many situations are reproduced in
automotive homologation cycles. The real evaluation of a vehicle’s
performance in these driving cycles is often done at the end of the
development phase of an internal combustion engine during its
integration to the test vehicle. This late phase allows too small a
degree of freedom of driving control relating to development tests
performed on a chassis dynamometer.
D2T suggests addressing this problem directly in dynamics tests through
the introduction of real-time simulation in its MORPHEE 2 automation
system. This has the effects of
reducing development time
and improving final engine calibration. SIMUDYN 2 is an application
developed by D2T which
reproduces on a test bed the behaviour of a human driver
and the dynamics of a motor vehicle using
standard driving cycles or those specific to the end user. SIMUDYN 2
offers the end user a large number of parameters allowing him to
customize its simulation at these levels:
- Driver characteristics, acceleration, gearbox shift rules....
- Vehicle mass, inertia of wheels, gearbox...
- Road cycles, consideration of gradients, complete customization of the
road cycle...
