News

·   CETIM, France – The CETIM has selected MORPHEE 2 automation system for the validation of the ECU of a new gear box. MORPHEE 2 controls two electrical dynamometers as well as the CAN interface to the gearbox controller of the gearbox. CETIM has chosen D2T solution  for the performances but also the user-friendly interface and the flexibility of MORPHEE system.

·   University of Karlsruhe, Germany – The University of Karlsruhe has selected the EC dynamometer DE 900 to do testing on Heavy Duty diesel engine. Technical features and the low inertia of this dynamometer has fulfilled customer requirements. This dynamometer is the third commissioned after 2 AC dynamometers of  380 and 500 kW.

SIA Congress: Diesel Engine

During the SIA Congress in Rouen (France) on the 28th  and 29th of May, D2T, main sponsor of this event, brought to light his leading role for engine and powertrain development demonstrating  some realisations such as:

  • D2T development one-cylinder engine is a modular and fast development platform based on a one-cylinder engine. This unique engine base is covering a wide range of engines.
  • MORPHEE 2, D2T test bed automation system which fulfil the new requirements on a test bed for models integration in real time. A detailed presentation of the system was performed during the congress (see below).
  • Combustion Analysis System OSIRIS, which communicates with ASAM MCD-3 standard. This interface allows OSIRIS to control and exchange data with the development tool and engine ECU. OSIRIS is supplied with a  new electronic angular encoder  (FFR-M)  which permits to manage multiple singularities target, such as 30x2 – 2

Vehicle simulation on an engine test bed

During SIA Congress focused on Diesel Engine, common work of IFP and D2T about Road load simulation on an engine test bed Simulation have been presented by Florent PEREZ (D2T), Philippe MOULIN (IFP) and Alessio DEL MASTRO (IFP).

Sum-up:

The race for engine consumption and pollutant emission reduction requires engines development time reduction and optimisation. These problems bring engine test bed to become measuring systems more and more powerful and versatile.

This test bed functionalities enrichment drives automation system evolutions. One of these is the integration of real time simulation execution in MORPHEE 2 which makes it possible to the engine control engineers to anticipate control strategies development (read the article on the below link)

Shell Eco-marathon

La joliverie

Marcel Callo

ENSAM Bordeaux

The 2008 Edition of Marathon Shell has taken place for the last year in Nogaro. The weather was very changeable - sun and torrential rains – and a  strong wind on Saturday has perturbated the race, and did not allowed team to reach their best record.

D2T sponsored 3 teams which had all good performances  in their category:

1. Lycée La Joliverie with Microjoule team arrived first with a good advance on everybody (3382 km/litre with SP95). OSIRIS combustion analysis system allowed them to go to go further in their settings improvement.

2.  The Marcel Callo secondary school arrived  first in the diesel categories (1075 km / litre) and LPG (1910 km / litre). The training in combustion and MFB given by D2T was very beneficial.

3. ENSAM Bordeaux used for the first time its vehicle equipped with a new motor still at the stage of development, of which first tuning were accomplished at D2T. The car made a 1522 km/litre with SP95 (14th to the general). A big potential for this vehicle, still to finish and validate.

Shell decided to choose another circuit race in Europe for 2009 edition. It will be probably in Germany, circuit remains to confirm.
