PWR 2000   Wall-mount IGBT technology       EC DYNAMOMETER POWER MODULE The PWR 2000 power module is able to supply current to the coil of Eddy Current brakes from D2T GROUP or others. It is mounted in a waterproof case. The PWR 2000 is a wall mounted unit with waterproof cable way to the dynamometer. The remote power unit helps to limit the level of electric noise in the control cabinet and on instrumentation channels, it also eliminates the requirement for separate power trunking. The PWR 2000 unit is EMC compliant. The power module is based on an IBGT module enables it to supply a 16 A maximum current to the coil. The PWM converter frequency is 4 kHz.The module is protected against short circuits and isolation defects in the dynamometer coil. The heat exchanger assembly guarantees good operation in a test bed environment. The unit has 6 digital inputs for dynamometer safeties. In addition, optional modules (6max.) can be fitted into the PWR 2000 module and can be used to monitor bearing and cooling chamber temperatures. Monitoring of these parameters can assist in identifying when dynamometer servicing is required and avoid severe damage. The coils on multi rotor dynamometers are connected in series. The PWR 2000 power module is controlled by a 0 - 10 V analog input and can be connected to the DCU 2000 to control speed, torque and throttle position. The PWR 2000 power module has digital alarm outputs for use with the DCU 2000 rack. A voltage free contact is also available for use with others control units/ systems.
